How
to Discover Your Attractive
Abilities
There are aspects of your
business you love, and some
you don't. Maybe you're
a big-picture gal with amazing
vision and goals, but you
get overwhelmed with details
and logistics. Or maybe
you're great with clients,
but completely drained by
e-mail. Perhaps you have
a ton of creativity, but
you're not so hot at balancing
a checkbook.
Whatever your strengths,
savvy business women know
to focus on and leverage
what they are great at and
get support for the areas
where they don't exactly
shine. This is SO important.
You can't create an ideal
business unless you can
spend your work hours on
the things you love and
excel at.
So, what's the best way
to spend your working hours?
- Which activities give
you the most payoff, the
most fun, and the most
satisfaction?
- Which aspects of your
business bring out your
unique talents and natural
gifts?
- What do you do well
and enjoy - without much
effort?
These are your attractive
abilities. We call them
that because they attract
people, opportunities, and
profit to you. And when
you shine, you sure do look
attractive!
When you set up your business
around your attractive abilities,
you can create results without
working as hard. You're
'in the zone' on a consistent
basis, and much more energized
throughout the day. You'll
be happier, more productive,
and even more ambitious.
Attractive abilities are
a sassy and savvy way of
life!
A
Sassy Breakthrough
- Nancy Carlton
|
Nancy
Carlton, the president
of a mid-size advertising
agency, is one impressive
lady. Sharp, witty,
and personable, she
knows how to work a
room and make everyone
feel like an absolute
superstar. But in her
own office, she wasn't
feeling very sparkly
at all.
When she
was young and eager
to prove herself, she
quickly moved up the
ranks by landing bigger
deals and more impressive
clients than anyone
else in the agency.
But with each step up,
she faced more responsibility
within the company.
Before she realized
what was happening,
her position morphed
from high-caliber account
executive to trainer,
manager, and strategic
planner. And without
the thrill of the hunt,
she began to fade.
"I
couldn't figure out
why I was feeling so
drained all the time.
I used to love this
job! But after a few
years, my enthusiasm
was completely flat
and I was just trudging
through my days. Sure,
I was doing my job well,
but with every additional
in-house responsibility,
I felt more numb, more
bored, and more trapped".
It took an outsider's
perspective to help
her see the real problem.
She wasn't spending
enough time doing the
one thing that really
brought out her charisma
and sense of fun in
business landing new
clients! With that one
awareness, Nancy completely
changed her relationship
to her work. She hired
two more people to handle
the things that bored
her to tears, and in
no time at all she was
back in touch with her
spark, generating massive
profits for the firm,
and smiling a lot more.

Steps: Hitch up your pantyhose
and get moving!
Not sure what your attractive
abilities are? Use these
questions below to help
you discover and clarify
your own attractive abilities.
- 1. Which activities
in your business seem
to make time fly?
- 2. Which professional
activities energize you
before and after you do
them?
- 3. Think of a time in
your business when you
were successful. What
activities were you doing?
- 4. What activities have
you been told youre good
at (and you love to do),
and you were surprised
because you thought everyone
was good at them?
- 5. Take out a sheet
of paper and make two
columns. Title one side:
What I Love to Do. Title
the other side: Everything
Else that Must Get Done.
Brainstorm ideas for each
side, them leave the list
on your desk in plain
sight. As you move through
your workweek, jot down
notes as ideas come up.
Suspend your thoughts
about what is or isn't
possible to delegate;
just consider what is
really ideal for you.
This month, that's all
we're asking you to do
get crystal clear on your
attractive abilities.
Sometimes, just that is
enough to get the ball
rolling in the right direction.
